 | Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera (Blue)
If you like plastic.... -- 2010-08-27 I bought this camera because I wanted a cheap point-and-shoot. And that's what I got..a cheap camera. I thought I was going to break off the top of the battery compartment just to put the batteries in. I guess I should have added this first...it didn't work right out of the box. Tried multiple batteries with no success. Sent it back to Amazon the next day. I did get excellent service from Amazon and a fast, full refund.
Go for a better brand and save yourself frustration -- 2010-08-18 One Word - Don't
CD80, CD82 and CD182 -- all related models of the same camera are not worth even the inexpensive price.
I bought this as an entry-level camera for my daughter - only to discover photos have significant "noise" (little black spots and under-exposed backgrounds), it drains batteries faster than a cigarette burns (zoom lens is a huge drain), and they suffer from an electronic power switch that randomly refuses to turn the camera on.
Imagine needing to take a photo and having to remove/reinstall the batteries just to turn the camera back on.
Kodak's customer support failed to repair the problem and insists customers use expensive NiMH or Lithium batteries to resolve the power switch problem -- even though the directions say alkaline batteries are fine!
Do yourself a favor and get Canon, Nikon or other higher quality brand to save yourself aggravation.

 | Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Deep Red)
Last of the Enjoyable Canon Digital Elph Camera -- 2010-09-01 The Canon PowerShot SD 780IS is my latest and the fourth Digital Elph acquisition. This could very well be the last camera for this Canon branch (with 12+ megapixels)to come with a real-image optical zoom viewfinder. I hope I am wrong on this assumption.
Prove me wrong on the following three points if one could do quality photographic management without a camera viewfinder:
1) Any compact digital camera(including the new Canon brands) which allows the photographer to get a good view of the object in front through the LCD screen, with the sun on his back.
2) Any compact digital camera (including the new Canon brands) which allows the photographer to take rapid succession or panning shots viewing through the LCD screen inches away from the eyes.
3) Conserve battery with a LCD screen only digital camera.
It's no point in lamenting the whys and the stupidity of doing away with an optical zoom viewfinder on the Digital Elph series, or any similar cameras for that matter. Best Buy doesn't even carry this Digital Elph model. All PowerShot cameras or similar it carries have only LCD screens.
Compact digital cameras with viewfinders are a vanishing species. If you like a digital camera with a viewfinder, or have ever own a lower than a 10 megapixel Canon PowerShot Digital Elph, get the SD780IS camera. It's worth it.
Great Choice -- 2010-08-31 I've owned two cameras prior to this canon (a kodak & an olympus) and this is by far my favorite. Even though it wasn't the most important factor for me, the small size is a definite plus. I've used it for an entire day without having low battery although I do think charging nightly is a good idea if you use it quite a bit. The picture quality overall is great. Yes, it takes a blurry picture from time to time, but if you set the camera correctly (its really easy to do) your pictures will turn out great. I use this camera for facebook/internet use and for printing normal size photos & find it works very well! And an added bonus - its actually a pretty tough camera. The first week I had it, it was COMPLETELY submerged underwater for 5 minutes (turned off) and after about a week of drying out, it works perfectly. I can barely believe it & it makes me love it that much more. I highly recommend this camera!

 | Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch inch LCD
Great for a pocket camera -- 2010-09-03 If you want a camera to carry in your pocket this camera is the best. But, for a few more $ you can get the Pentax k-7. The k-7 photo quality and video quality are excellent. Pentax K-x 12.4MP Digital SLR with 2.7 inch LCD and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL Lens (Red)
Panoramic stitching -- 2010-09-02 This is my first choice camera to purchase but I'm trying to figure out if it has panoramic stitching shots like the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX5, which I think would be great, as I take a lot of scenery shots.
Can anyone school me?
Thanks!

 | Canon PowerShot S90 10MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3-inch LCD
Powershot S90 by Cannon -- 2010-09-02 This camera has served me well, as my backup camera. I take it to more hazardous events (weather, shock, etc.) A few people say that they don't like the build quality and that it is almost too small. It's not an issue for me b/c I have small hands to begin with. It is very light, but no lighter than other point-and-shoots that I've used, and for the quality of the pictures, well worth the money spent. It would be nice if the battery lasted a little longer though! I read tons of reviews on this camera before biting the bullet and buying one of my own. I was torn between this and the next model up in price. I am not a pro photographer and just wanted something I could fit easily into my purse when I didn't want to lug heavy equipment with me on day trips. Because the size was so important to me, I opted for this model. I am not disappointed at all - I like this camera and continue to be impressed at the beautiful the images coming SOOC.
The best P&S camera I've ever used...period -- 2010-09-02 I recently got this camera (yes i know, the S95 just came out) and I've loved using it.
The S90 is a point and shoot camera, but not necessarily compact. It's about an inch thick and an inch and a half including the control ring. The controls feel good with the exception of the shutter button. The control ring can easily get confused for the shutter button when you're not paying attention. It only has a 3.8X zoom, but the large f/2 aperture is worth it. I've taken several low light photos at isos of 80-400. Noise isnt much of a problem until iso 800. after 800, it starts getting noisy...fast. The priority modes are a nice addition to this camera as well as the custom, program, and manual modes. The auto mode will do a good job on its own, but the camera really shines when put in manual.
The picture quality is excellent. Zoomed in at 100% there is little chromatic abberation and only some purple fringing, but it wont detract from the photo too much. It has less chromatic abberation than average (most P&S cameras ive seen have it to some extent so don't get too uptight about it). The RAW capabilities are pretty nice, but there is a great amount of barrel distortion when shot in RAW mode. The camera does a really good job of correcting it when converted to JPEG though.
This is the low light king of the P&S jungle. Sony and Casio have CMOS sensors with a mode to take several pictures at different exposures at a high speed. Not needed with the s90. The day I got it I tried using it in a dark parking lot at night in front of a few shops. I was able to see everything in the picture with the f/2 lens at iso 80 and 1/5 shutter speed. It takes some time to play with the settings and figure out what works.
Blur from hand shake isnt that bad due to the IS on this camera.
It takes some time to get used to the plethora of controls and settings. This camera isn't for novice users. If you're looking for a great point and shoot and aren't technically inclined, then search for another camera. As i said before, this camera does a decent job in auto mode, but it really shines in manual. The auto mode sometimes selects settings that may undersaturate the pictures.
Colors are for the most part accurate, but greens tend to be somewhat bright and reds and blues are very strong. Yellows tend to shift toward to green but its not that bad.
The camera operates at an average speed, with some shutter lag and as long as you prefocus, it shouldn't be that bad.
Overall, this is a great point and shoot with great low light abilities. It produces better pictures than any other point and shoot I've seen and its large sensor only adds to the experience. With decent noise handling up to iso 800, which i havent seen on any other point and shoot, it will give you a sharp image in any light.

 | Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Red)
Moderately Satisfied -- 2010-09-02 There are a lot of good things about this litte camera.
1. It's little. I purchased this for a hiking trip to California, so I needed it to be easily stowable. It is.
2. Ease of use. My previous camera was a Cannon, and I did not find there was any learning curve in adapting to a different menu set-up. I love the quick menu- it is incredibly convenient.
3. Ability to switch between file sizes easily. All on the quick menu.
4. Very good picture quality. I've been spoiled by Cannon, but Panasonic did OK.
My biggest complaint: the zoom. I wanted to upgrade my zoom from the 4x I had on my Cannon to something with a little more...Ooomph. I figured the 8x would be great. Except for the fact that this camera can't seem to be able to focus between 3x and 6x. If I'm set to one extreme or the other (either zoomed all the way back or all the way in), it's fine. But as I zoom in the camera can't seem to find a spot to focus on. I've tried pushing down the button slightly, getting the zoom box and trying to show the camera where I wanted it to focus on, but that doesn't work either. I've tried other cameras with high zoom and have not run into the same issue. As the camera zooms, the focus stays true. The FH20 starts off focused, gets blurry, and then focuses again. Pretty disappointing performance when you're trying to shoot landscapes, and everything seems to be in that middle range.
All in all this camera was an OK purchase. I like the burst shooting and the video recording, although I think it would have been better to add the video feature to the quick menu.
I love it! -- 2010-09-02 I am a pro in photography for more than a decade. Although I mainly shoot with Slr, I do own few compact cameras handy when I am not too serious about getting that perfect shoot. Of all small cameras that I own, this one is the only one that didn't disappoint me. Most other digtal cameras have few problem such as high iso noise, low image quaility, loud zooming sound, too big, start up too slow and etc.
This one is perfect: Start up is fast & quite; image quailty is great (see photos I have uploaded); HD video quailty is great; control is simple; lens is best (it is sharp and does 8x optical zoom); outside looks great, fashionable, stylistic, price is cheap. In short, this fh20 is a great camera.
This camera can deliver dslr like image quailty, but only if you know what you are doing. As a pro in photograph, I saw a lot of photo getting bad image using high-end dslr, so photography is a skill and art, and a camera is merely a tool. For me, this is a great tool. Although it lacks controls such as changing the aperture or shutter speed manually, you can still get great result if you know how this camera react to different situation such as lighting in a particularly enviromental. It is more than pressing the shutter release to take a picture; Photograhy is all about lighting. A camera that can take Hd video is great. Still the same point, it can record clear sharp video in a controlled eniroment. Don't expect to take great video in a sunny day where the harsh light shining everywhere.
I got a 8gb class 4 sd card for $15 that works fawlessly and a great deal. I can record about 10min of HD video because max. file side per-file is 2 gb, so a 8gb card can record 40 mins of HD video. And 8gb can take 1600+ highest 14 mp photos. I use photoshop and premiere pro to edit my photo and video.

 | Canon PowerShot SX210IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 14x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)
Canon power shot SX210IS -- 2010-09-03 Great camera, bought for an Alaska trip very pleased with all pictures taken inserted a 16G card shot over 600 pictures with out a problem. 14X wide angle was super. highly recommend this Canon camera
Short Changed -- 2010-09-02 I was suppose to receive a 4GB SDHC Memory Card free with the purchase of this camera. I never received it nor have I ever heard anything from Amazon regarding it. When purchasing an item worth this kind of money one would think that Amazon would live up to their end of the bargin. Will think twice before coming back to them.

 | Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD
Great Second or third Camera for travel -- 2010-08-31 I must first say that except for a Fuji point and shoot, all my cameras are Canon so I may sound a bit like a Canon commercial but I really like this camera. I purchased this camera as an upgrade to my S5IS. I am planning a cruise and am always afraid to take my DSLR cameras and lenses with me for fear of loss or theft and because of weight restrictions on the plane. I used the S5IS on a trip to Bermuda and was thrilled with the results. I created a DVD slide presentation and even on a 50 in HDTV, the shots were fantastic. This camera produces even better pictures, 12 megapixels as apposed to 8 for the S5IS and a 20 times optical zoom as compared with 12 for S5IS. The SX20IS has better video, more features, and a much better zoom. I was amazed with the first shots I took and even when using the digital zoom, the noise was very tolerable and easily fixed with a good photo program. Using the digital zoom, I printed great 4 X 6 prints that were clear and sharp. I also have a Canon G10, a Canon T1i with an 18 -270 Tamaron lens, and a Canon XTI with a Sigma 18 - 200 lens. When I compared the quality of photos between the these cameras and the SX20IS the DSLR did win but not by that much. For the price, the SX20IS will be a great camera to take on a trip where space and weight are of a concern. I recommend this camera to anyone who wants an upper end quality point and shoot camera.
Bad Camera -- 2010-08-30 I bought this camera in November of 2009 and 8 months later, the thing was eating my batteries like crazy. I would place a new set of batteries in and the camera immediately tells me they are bad and needs to be changed when the batteries are brand new! Would not recommend buying this camera!

 | Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)
Problem w recorded image -- 2010-09-03 I received my DMC-ZS7 just about 2 weeks ago. I had not had much chance to use it, but in the small amount of time I've had to play with it I was quite excited about it. Loved the extra zoom feature and the picture quality appeared to be quite nice. Haven't actually printed any photos yet so not sure how the quality will translate to print. Today while taking pictures I noticed a thin blue line was being included in the top center portion of the images. After trying different settings, different memory cards, etc. I found this was occuring in all photos. An email response from Panasonic suggested I reset the camera, and if that didn't work to send for repair. The reset did not work. I don't know if this is a software or a hardware issue, but now I must pay to have it shipped for a replacement. The seller only accepts returns if within 7 days. Also they require all warranty cards to be returned, so if you order any item be sure to save those cards and read all the fine print. I do like the camera and hope the replacement will provide many years of trouble-free use.Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Red)
Good but not enough for me -- 2010-09-03 I wanted a view finder and a hot shoe. camera is terrific other than that.
