Great Webcam for a Great Price!!! -- 2010-03-09
I use this camera to se my family at home while at work and I couldn't be happier with the qualtiy and sound. It is really nice to have this tool to help me see my son anytime I want to and get my work done. I will be buying more of these for other rooms of my house and highly recommend this product to all.

It's my first webcam and I bought it for staying in contact with my family.
Handling is quite easy but I do not like the Microsoft-Software - I use it with Skype.
Voice-transmitting is quite well but sometimes the videostream is not as I expected. But I think thats a matter of my broadband-company or something else.
Actually I was astonished about the good video on my laptop -> thumbs up!
I recommended it to my family and they bought the same :)

this webcam works great for me.i get one for my laptop and another one for my desktop.both video and still pictures,easy to use. it was exactly as advertised and i recieved in a timely manner
works for skype- if you change the skype settings -- 2010-03-08
bought this webcam for skype- at first it worked for a second and then the other party could not see me. For some reason, I had to change the video settings to "accept video from everyone"- it worked just fine after that. Don't know why but it works now so??? I don't really sit next to my computer when using it- I'm actually walking around and my kids are playing quite far from the camera actually and my parents can see us still quite well @ a distance so I know it's a decent camera- microphone on the camera works okay up close but not quite as well far away- but I doubt that it was meant to be used from across the room so I can't take away because of that! HA Super for the money and better than the webcam on my mom's netbook :)

Bad Mic -- 2010-03-08
I haven't really used the built-in mic coming with this web cam until today when I found an annoying background noise with it. You know I'm a PC fan and IT professional. I'm very familiar with PC and its peripherals and how to trouble shoot them. The thing is: the built-in mic of my PC works perfectly, which means you just can't blame the sound card or its driver. I searched online and found quite some complaint against VX-3000's noise. Seems my unit is broken: the advertised noise-canceling doesn't work at all!
It's not a big deal because every PC has a mic port now, but the bad thing is: you THOUGHT it work as advertised, with noise-canceling offering crystal clear recording, bluh, bluh, bluh, when in reality it doesn't work that way, and you got pissed off :-)
Why they want to put a mic there inside a webcam? The common sense is those "x-in-1" things are more prone to problems than devices with dedicated features. I won't buy any webcam+mic any more.

My kids are married or off to college. It's better than texting or talking on the phone. They like the experience too. Great tool for staying in touch.

I needed a camera so my kids could video chat with their grandparents on skype. This camera worked. It came with no drivers or manual but windows vista (I really don't like vista) recognized it. The skype program recognized it and it was installed in less than 2 minutes. The video quality was more than I expected for having paid $9. It is not professional but it works. The built in microphone also works - though a headset would be better.
I don't believe you actually get a 5 megapixel resolution out of it, but then I would never use that high of a resolution to go over a skype call anyway.

Okey first off, this is a ONE, yes i said it ONE peace plug for the video and the mic, those people who said the video is crappy, or the mic doesn't work, well the one i got does, and it really sensitive, i can talk on the other side of the room and my friends can hear me, and whats the greatest is that the video is beyond what i even expected, the people who say that the video is horrible isn't inclined to turn the lens on the webcam itself, like i said before the mic and the camera are together in one plug as a USB, and it hooked up to my XP computer just fine and it installed the components it self. The best 12 bucks i have ever spent, trust me, im a normal customer on amazon and i think that this was the best purchase i ever made, other than my Dell Axim X50v.
Pros:
-AMAZING video quality
-AMAZING deal for a webcam.
-The mic works like a charm.
-It is like a desk lamp but way better :)
Cons (a lil list):
-Yes, the suction cup does work, it really does you just need a flat surface and to twist the main part of it and it will stick hard, if you dont twist the bace it will not stick, and if you have trouble with it on the table/desk then i got some packing tape, two peaces side by side and it stuck to the table.
Trust me with with this buy, you will not regret it ^^

Impressed with how easy it is to use -- 2010-03-09
Bought this for myself to test before i purchased one for my girlfriend. I liked how small it was and easy to attach to my laptop (HP Elitebook). IT was extremely easy to use, just plug and play. Takes good photos and videos and works with all popular programs like Skype and MSN messenger. The only thing that affects the quality of the image and use is wireless or some people have slower connections.
Small size -- 2010-03-07
My old laptop came without a camera. I wanted one to make Skype video calls. Most cameras are large and bulky. This one is relatively small. It works good but I have to change my microphone setting every time I reboot. My PC always defaults to the PC microphone input rather than the C905 microphone input.

Nice product for the price. Works well for chat on Skype, gTalk etc. Decent video and audio (built-in mic). Works easily on Linux also!
Great webcam -- 2010-02-22
Installed this with the software on a Dell Laptop running Vista. Easy, easy - except for the software trying to push their version of video messaging / calls. It's perfect for Skype. Hangs easily on the open laptop or can sit on a surface. Great buy for the money.

The camera is easy to use, simply plug it in and it works. The camera was used with Ubuntu. The problem with this camera is that it is made for desktops, not laptops and so you have to find somewhere to place the camera. I also did not realize that the laptop we were using it with did not have a built in microphone so we ended up purchasing another camera with a microphone.

This web cam is so easy to use, you plug it in the back of your Mac computer and you are ready to go. the image is great and very clear. I have one on my computer and bought one for my son who also has a Mac. We are both very happy with it. I have grandchildren out of town and in Europe and now I can see them and they can see us .It's wonderful. I recommend it highly to every one who does not have a built in web cam on their Mac computer.
Love it on my PowerBook G4 -- 2010-02-22
Unfortunately my PowerBook G4, OS 10.4.11, was the last made before the built-in cameras. When my child was deployed I wanted a camera to Skype with him. I priced new and used Apple ISight webcams, very expensive, and looked for Mac compatible cams. This camera was the best priced and featured camera I could find that I felt might work with my machine though I was uncertain about the USB port speed. I was pleased with the one Skype session I have been able to have with my child. The connection had to be reestablished twice for unknown reasons, but the picture was worth a 1000 words.
