I got this in the mail today. It came intact and I used it already. Its fun and very clear. It was an easy setup on my Windows 7 machine. It was ready to use in 10 minutes. I wish the cord was longer but it was an easy fix with an extender I already had. Now I only wish my friends and family would get one so I can see them better!

I am so happy to be one of the first to purchase a 1080p HD web cam. I am very impressed with the quality of the picture and sound that this small camera produces. It comes with software that allows you to do avatars, photos and creative videos. I especially like its auto focus and stereo sound ability. You can do 1080p videos and with one click, upload your HD video to YouTube and Facebook. For the moment online video chats are limited to 720p image size but the software allows you to do that. I would highly recommend this camera.

I use this daily for the microphone on Teamspeak while playing World of Warcraft. The sound quality is excellent. The webcam part is an added bonus for me.

I think it is a design thing. The microphone is on the side and my speakers on are each side of the monitor. I had to really tweak the speaker and microphone settings. I also moved my speakers to cut down on feed back.

Good value/price ratio -- 2010-09-02
This is a good-enough camera to get the job done. My daughter is in school in Europe and we Skype once a week with this. If you can handle the close-up detail, adjust the lens focus manually by turning the outer rim surrounding the lens. It took me a few minutes to realize that this manual feature was available after playing around with the Skype video settings.
There was no documentation in my box and no driver. This was not a problem with Windows and Skype.
Recommend this purchase and the seller was on schedule with delivery.

I've always have bought Logitech webcams so I made the switch to Microsoft and this is a definitely a better WebCam. It was easy to install and it works great with MS Messenger and Skype and the clarity was awesome! I'm a happy camper!

First the picture is super clear, second, it looks great because the frame is 16:9 style. I set this up on my PC at the office, I must have sold about 10 of them just by seeing how clear it looks when they are just walking by. Setting up the software is EASY, if you have WIndows 7 you plug it in an you are done. Windows 7 not only recognizes the driver, but it downloads all the software and installs it for you. This is some technology.
Some HD handheld cams I looked at could easily go $3000+, this is a great inexpensive replacement for doing presentions or creating content.
If you have a slow junky PC, you will get a slow junky picture most likely. If you are using an old PC more than 5 years old, replace it because 5 year old PCs and CPUs take up more electricity.

Decent cam, but NOT Windows 7-64bit compatible :-( -- 2010-09-01
When it works, it's pretty cool.
I plugged it into my W/7-64bit and it installed just fine, windows found some drivers, but none of my web cam apps would recognize it. The lights worked, the mic worked, just no picture. And, yes, I looked, no on/off switch, so ya gotta unplug it when you aren't using it.

After installing, uninstalling, with no success of getting it to do anything useful, I hooked it up to my Vista 32bit laptop & it fired right up, Windows got the drivers, and we were all good. It shoots a pretty decent video. Ya gotta twist the lens on the front for focus, and for those looking, the mic is on the top, a teeny, tiny, little hole, yep, that's it !
This is quite an old cam, so don't expect 64bit drivers any time soon.
But over all, when I got it to do it's thing on the Vista, it actually was quite good. People said they could hear me just fine, and the video may not be "HD" LOL, but it works just fine for me. ( Who wants to see ANYONE first thing in the morning in HD ? LOL )

Nice webcam -- 2010-08-31
Great webcam for the money; it came yesterday, sooner than I expected. The product description says metal finish, but the webcam is indeed *metal*, and it just looks great.
Pretty good video and audio quality, can't really tell this webcam quality from another one (HP KQ246AA 8.0MP Deluxe webcam) that I use in another PC; Windows and Linux recognize this camera right away, no need for external drivers; within seconds I'm skype-ing. The webcam has two cables: an USB one for the camera, and another audio type cable for the built-in microphone.
Its shaft and head are adjustable, height is ~ 5.5 inches, the base is ~ 3 inches, the focus is manual, and the leds can be controlled through an in-line switch.
Currently it sits on my table, but the base has two little holes, in which you can put two little screws, in case you need to mount it sideways.
I really hope it lasts.

Skype compatible issue -- 2010-09-03
I ordered this camera to use with Skype. I loaded the software as instructed and when I went to use it with Skype my family could hear me but not see me. I researched online to find out this camera is not the most compatible with Skype however I found a link recommended to correct the problem. After i uninstalled the software I used this link which went to Microsoft's website and downloaded the drivers. Then I opened Skype and through tools then options I was able to verify the camera was working and set it as my camera through Skype. Now everything is working great.

Camera was really easy to install. Picture quality is ok, haven't tried sound yet. One issue is the delivery. Might've not been handle as well which caused a pixel or two to be broken.

there's LED lights on it to light you up in a dark room, & when turning the cam to show someone something in the room, it's like a lil spot-light. Perfect bonus for a cheap cam.
It was totally plug & play for Windows XP & for Ubuntu Linux. Works in all programs i've tried so far. I'm very pleased with this camera.
it's not the best quality on the market, but it's perfect for basic use. All in all it's a great cam for the price.

Bought this little camera for my son who loves to make youtube videos. While it's not a top of line brand it does the job. It also worked out of the box with ubuntu linux. If your looking for a cheap camera that will working your linux system then look no further.
For the price I can't really complain, but it is worth mentioning that the stand is cheaply made, and it's hard to get it to position properly because the cord is heavier than the camera.

I like this webcam. It serves its purpose (Skype with grandfather) perfectly. Crystal clear picture. A swiveling head would be nice, but I wasn't willing to pay more for that feature. It is also discreet/low profile, relative to my old webcam, and I like its looks.
