Excellent camera -- 2010-08-10
I bought this camera not knowing what to expect, this is my first network camera of any kind. I found it very easy to install and set-up. The picture quality is great, even on my iphone. My primary purpose for this camera is to keep an eye on my dogs while I am away..I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone!!
Panasonic IP security cam -- 2010-06-21
I have been in data communications for 25 years, 10 years working on IP stuff. Routers, switches that sort of thing. If you are not IP literate I would strongly suggest looking for a trained professional, or a precocious 13 year old to help you through the installation. It's not that installation is that difficult, but terminology will come to play. DNS, MAC Address, Net Mask, etc.. This is the alphabet soup that can make your eyes glaze, and cause you to go prematurely gray.
As for the product concept I can only say that since it does exactly what I imagined we needed after my wife and I had our home broken into. It has a motion detector. It takes a picture when there is detected movement. Then emails, or FTP's it (your choice) to you. It must be brilliant. It is left to you the homeowner to decide if the dog got into the living room, or if there is something more nefarious afoot. You can also play voyeuer on hired help and such, or make sure the kids arent having a keger while you have dinner out. (As if they arent smart enough to put a photograph of the empty living room in front of the camera.)
My real feelings for the product come from my experience with Panasonic tech support. I told the rep Richard Morgan I'd complement him. So there I did. Did I need help with the install? Of course not! But I did have a question regards SMTP service that dumbo carrier Verizon could not help with. Not ony was Verizon clueless they were surly about it.
The best thing I can say about the product is that we need three more cameras. Despite the price they will all be the Panasonics.

The videos is all fuzzy now and it doesn't work. After a couple months of use. I'm very disappointed and do not recommend this!
Has a defect -- 2010-05-24
It worked wonderfully initially but now seems to have lost its microphone functioning. ONLY camera working. Pic quality gud.

Great quality video and the built in microphone works great too, especially for it's price. I only need to speak on my normal speaking voice level (which is considered quite soft to most people) to be heard on the other side. I highly recommend it

I really have no issues with this cam so far. I've recently made a short film to put on youtube and the quality is great. I've been using it for Skype too and it's all clear and good. The lights can be a little annoying at times but you get used to them and I imagine they can be turned off.

good product,it takes a little while to set up because is not a plug and play item, I mean you have to use the cd that comes with it,but the camera has a very good resolution and the headset has a very good sound

I purchased this item along with a regular standard inside camera. Both worked great for 9 months. The standard indoor camera is still working. The clock camera started losing time on the clock and was way off. Losing several minutes a day. After 13 months the camera just died. The clock still keeps the wrong time but the camera itself is dead. Now I only have the standard indoor working. I went to purchase another indoor camera and saw the new Cisco (Linksys) wireless N cameras at $119. Read the reviews on them and now in the process of changing over. Not here to make you change your mind about this product. As I said the standard indoor camera still works great.
Display Broke After 3 Months - Died Completely in 18 Months -- 2010-06-19
Bought this as a nanny cam for my son's bedroom. Worked okay at first, but after three months it was unplugged and the clock numbers never fully came back on - although the camera still worked okay. Then, after 18 months it completely stopped working. I tried installing a firmware update, but after a reboot, it only works for a minute or two, then dies completely. Very disappointing considering the price.

Picture Freezes Every Time I Move the Angle -- 2010-08-04
Set up was easy, It just seems that any time I move the angle of the camera, the picture freezes. It's very frustrating. I'm running it on Windows Vista on a laptop that is only a little over 2 yrs old, every other cam I have used on it works well. This is frustrating and since the reviews I saw online were good, I am a bit disappointed.

the webcam was great out of the box everything seemed to be wroking perfectly. The audio and sound is great. plus took only a couple minutes to get it working. A + product.
