3D or 2D? Still or Video? This is Sublime Versatility... -- 2010-09-08
Forget jerry-rigging two Flip cams together. If you want a stylish camera that can shoot great 3D (and 2D) photos and videos, this is it. I'm still learning the ropes but so far, it's been nothing short of impressive.
It may seem pricey but keep in mind, this is like 2 high-powered cameras in one device designed specifically for stereoscopic 3D. Controls like the auto-parallax more than justify the price. The 3D monitor is amazing and instantly gratifying especially when your 3D shots come out looking amazing. And if the novelty of 3D runs out for you, the 2D shooting features will keep you happy. Shooting with two different cameras gives you more options for creative photography. Bear in mind, unlike what the marketing images suggest, it's not the exact shot (obviously since the lens are spaced apart) and in some cases, it's not the exact moment.
The reason why this doesn't get 5 stars is because of some of the inconveniences I've run into. For example, the bundled software is terrible for this camera. On that note, Mac users will find the lack of support and software to be a pain. At least, Windows users will be able to use the amazing StereoMovie Maker. Also, you're going to have to study the manual esp. the Restrictions table. It tells you which options work with which modes. This way you don't expect some combination to work and get disappointed when it doesn't.
All in all, I'm pleased with this camera despite some of the issues I've run into. FinePix W3 could almost be the Swiss Army Knife of cameras.
Summary: Two views. Lots of options. Some restrictions apply.

Fuji FinePix 3D W3 Digial Camera - Better than I expected -- 2010-09-08
Wow! I hoped for something amazing, but what I received was even better than I expected. My first picture was awesome. My first video was awesome (although the subject matter was somewhat boring). The screen is amazing; the quality of the 3D on the screen is wonderful. I made a mistake and shot a video of the ground and was amazed as each blade of grass came toward me from the screen. The negatives that I've read about the camera are trivial in relations to the positives of this camera. The controls are mostly intuitive. Take note that before shooting, the picture on the screen is not 3D. Only after shooting do you see the 3D. Also when taking videos it's best not to have much movement of the camera which is fine with me. Is it perfect? No, but it's still worth five stars out of five. Wow!

Amazing deal! -- 2010-07-06
I absolutely love this camera!
I have been researching for months on which camera to buy and finally decided I would go with an SLR but when I went to buy an SLR the salesmen talked me out of it and showed me this camera. I was hesitant to buy it since it was so much cheaper than I was expecting to spend but I fiugred I could always take it back. I had been looking at the canons but they honestly don't compare.
This camera is probably comparable to an SLR. It can focus on up close items like flowers and takes amazing low-light shots. I absolutely love my sony! Definitely buy it! So cheap and great pictures.

Great little camera.... -- 2010-07-03
I have thoroughly enjoyed this little camera. I already had a much larger camera for other uses, but this one is compact enough to carry in your purse or pocket. It is easy to use, and the pictures are great. The only drawback I have is that other brands of SD cards cannot be used in this camera. You must purchase one from Sony. I really wasn't too pleased that I was unable to use SD cards for storage that I had already purchased and had on hand. I probably would not have purchased the camera had I known that I would have to spend more money to purchase Sony's own SD card. So, whatever you spend for the camera, be ready to fork out more money for a Sony brand storage card. The internal memory holds only one or two pictures.

Waste of money -- 2010-09-07
We got the Fuji XP10 and loved it at first. My husband opened it on Father's Day. By July 15th the flash stopped working. At the end of July, right before our Disney trip, water got in the lens. I left it for 2 days in a bag of rise to draw the moisture out so we could use it on our trip. 6 days into our trip we got a "zoom error" message and the camera was not functional. Mailed it off and of course all those problems are not covered by warranty and they want $[...] to fix it.

Off to buy a new camera. I am not paying them to fix their piece of crap

I bought this Fuji because of the cool case color and that it was touted as "shock proof". Right out of the box the dang thing would not take pictures. The menu screens all worked put you could not view the subject on the monitor. After snapping a photo all that would appear was some wavy blue lines. I loaded and reloaded the battery and memory just in case but still no view and no pics. It will be going back to COSTCO tomorrow.

I love this camera! -- 2010-09-08
Anyone who is looking at this camera has probably scoured through the reviews already but here are my two cents. I upgraded from a T1i to this camera. The 5DMKII is significantly heavier than the T1i, especially gripped. The controls are slightly different but intuitive for a previous Canon user. But that's just the small stuff...Most importantly, the low light capability ROCKS! With my T1i, I could go up to ISO800 and maybe ISO1600 with post processing before the photo became unusable. With this camera, I was shooting away at ISO3200 and while there was some noise, it easily went away with a little PP. It takes beautiful photos, even with the 50mm 1.8! I do love the 24-105mm f/4 which I think is a great range to function as a walk about lens. Really, I now feel limited by only my skill. (I'm still an amateur when it comes to dSLRs-I've upgraded quickly!). I'm so happy I upgraded. I have only one complaint and that is with the autofocusing system. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm still learning but I do think it's a little slow and outdated. I wish it had more focus points. Also, I miss having a flash on the camera. I try not to use the on camera flash- I hate flash photography- but sometimes it's needed...I do have a Speedlite but I don't want to have to carry it everywhere!

Overall, I LOVE this camera and I'm so glad I upgraded. I initially choked a little on the price but now I wish I just bit the bullet earlier...

Enjoying the camera! -- 2010-09-05
I purchased this for low light situations with out the flash and the typical indoor poor lighting issues. Overall it performed well. I was able to get the pix. In a hotel with mixed light the colors are very yellow. In the low light the colors seemed to red. Photo Shop fixed the red; but didn't help much in the yellow photo's. I'd expect to NOT have to use PS to much with this kind of camera. I didn't have a lot of time to 'practice' with this before I needed it for this occasion. All the buttons are different than my xti; so I used auto to much. IT CHOSE to use the 2.8 part of my lens; so many pix are still blurry outside of what I was focused on. MY mistake. NEXT TIME I'll know to use manual or how to compensate better. I think once I learn the camera it's going to be the wisest camera choice I've made!!!

Even the feature guys are working with it -- 2010-09-04
After doing a review awhile back, some feature cinematographers we know have latched onto it.
Instead of laying out the whole deal here you can visit [...] for the story that Steven Poster gave on using this camera on set.

Awesome Camera -- 2010-09-03
I am really happy with this camera. The quality and functionality is amazing. I bought a Canon 100mm IS Macro lens and together, these products take amazing pictures. If you are looking for a middle line professional digital camera, this one excels beyond your expections! In about a month, our new website will be launched so you can see the quality pictures this camera takes. [...]

A fantastic camera for travel -- 2010-09-05
I recently purchased this camera to take on a trip to Papua New Guinea. I also carry a larger camera (Canon S3IS) but purchased this model for its larger screen, small and convenient size, low light capability, and ease of use for high quality video. I've just returned from the trip and couldn't be happier with the performance of this camera. Its only negative quality is the lack of good optical zoom. I compensated by using my other camera when I needed zoom capability. This is an excellent second camera, or one-and-only camera when zooming is not ultra important. The videos are great!!

A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!! -- 2010-09-03
I had a couple of older model Canon Elph's, and wanted to upgrade thinking new had to be better. This camera just did not live up to expectations, or what was promised by Canon. First and foremost, I got a lot of odd looking colors in my shots. Some looked fine, but others looked "cartoonish". I was using the complete auto mode, so it's not like I had the wrong settings picked. I mean I would hand the camera to a friend, they'd look at the screen and say "why does she look like a cartoon in this one?" Just not natural and not appealing. I also experienced autofocus issues where more shots were blurry than with my previous Elph. The lack of sharpness was a big issue on most prints. Just too soft and fuzzy. I agree with taking 14 megapixels and going down to 10 to make the photos easier to handle and store, but not when it affects picture quality to this degree. Maybe 12 was a safer number. Still, 10 megapixels and you can't get a nice sharp 4x6 print out of it? That just shouldn't be happening. As far as video goes, I also had a focus issue at times with a moving object. My son was running around the backyard catching lightning bugs and I lost the focus a number of times and had to move the camera around to jar it back into clarity. All in all, I'd pass on this one.

Mushy -- 2010-09-09
I rocked a Powershot SD450 for years. It was a great reliable and durable camera until after years of use the shutter decided not to fully open. I sold a lot of Powershots for Cannon based on the quality of the pictures that I took and shared with people. I opted for the SD450 as a replacement. The 3500 is a beautiful looking camera but it takes MUSHY pictures. The pictures just aren't sharp/crisp. The image quality on my old SD450 was far superior. The images look great on the touch screen but when you download them they blur.

Canon power shot 14mg with 5 optical zoom -- 2010-09-06
I have always used Kodak products and will continue with my Kodak 14 mg/5 optical zoom, but I believe that Canon has better clarity and colored pictures. The night feature of the Canon is superior to any camera that I have ever used.
When I travel, I will take both my Kodak and Canon cameras. The Kodak has excellent share capabilities and it is easy to manage my pictures on line. I like the rechargeable feature of the batteries on both cameras. The 5 optical zoom and motion features are outstanding on both cameras when shooting from the window of a bus or airplane. I purchased both cameras from Amazon and would suggest either camera.

2nd time buyer of this camera... -- 2010-09-01
I first bought this camera after my high school graduation in 2009. I got it at Walmart for $250 and it was worth every penny of it. I loved it! The pictures were very crisp and clear. The camera itself is on the small side. It's somewhat thin and easy to hide in your pocket, perfect for sneak attacks. Haha. I'm one of those people who love to take pictures of anything and everything and this camera does the job beautifully. School events, birthdays, nature, action photos, and profile pics are all easy to take with it. The video feature was pretty cool too although I didn't mess with it that much. The only difference between the 2 is that my 1st camera was orange. Anyways my camera came up missing last fall and I liked it so much I bought it again. And it's cheaper this time! :D

This camera is a steal! -- 2010-09-01
For $80, you get what you pay for. Maybe more. It's very portable. It takes great pictures & the camera has great focus. Not too many features but it's enough for $80. I'm happy with it. & I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great camera on a budget. Great for college students.

Otra cosa... -- 2010-09-09

This camera is amazing -- 2010-09-08
I just got this camera, and I've been using my 50mm 1.4 lens with it (I mainly shoot portraits), and these two combined are AMAZING! The pictures come out so clear. I love it. Can't wait to invest in some high quality glass! Definitely worth the money. I don't think this camera will ever let me down. :) The full frame also makes a big difference. ISO capabilities are incredible!
