 | Bose In-Ear Headphones
Beautiful sound and fit, durability = FAILURE -- 2010-09-06 As a music professional I've always counted on Bose for the best in sound quality and these ear buds don't disappoint. I've told countless students to purchase them for the best quality sound. However, they are poorly put together, I used these gently for about a year and 3 months and the wire broke, then it broke again. They still worked, then one day the right ear bud just stopped working. I paid $100 for these things and they lasted less than 2 years! I've stopped recommending them to my students and will not recommend again until Bose corrects the problem. I am disappointed that such a great company with such great products would allow something to go on the market with such poor workmanship. More so, I'm disappointed that they charge such prices for a product that by now they MUST know is less than their standard of quality. I will not be purchasing a new pair. I will find another viable option and will no longer recommend this product to my students.
BOSE IN-EAR -- 2010-09-04 I REALLY LIKE THE SOUND QUALLITY, AND EASE OF USE, AND FIT. A BIT PRICEY, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

 | Skullcandy SCS-SCBP3.5 Skullcrushers Subwoofer Stereo Headphones (Black Pinstripe)
hope this review helps -- 2010-09-08
SUBWOOFER:
dont let the word subwoofer fool you. the headphones have an acceptable bass effect, but its definitely not a subwoofer. dont get me wrong, they can generate alot of bass, but it doesnt sound like a subwoofer. its hard to explain, but it feels like a "bass amplifying vibrator" is around your ears, which is a pleasant experience by the way. if u listen to metal, the bass amplifier is not very good for u. u wont be able to pump the bass with metal songs. (in my opinion, u shouldn't need to anyway)
SOUND QUALITY:
the sound quality is excellent (COMPARED TO PRICE). if you're (like me) used to one of the BOSE headphones then you'll feel that these headphones have "crappy" sound quality. however, the BOSE headphones im talking about cost $300.. these cost $42.. ull get much more out of these headphones than the BOSE ones (if u adjust for price difference).
APPEARCE, DESIGN, AND GENERAL LOOK:
this is where i became a skullcandy fan! the headphones have a superb design. they look amazing. they DONT feel like they were made with cheap products. they fit very comfortably. they can fold neatly to almost 1/3 their size to be put in this really cool case/bag. there is so much more that amazed me regarding their general look and feel. generally speaking, the quality of this product compared to it's price is just super!!!
after this experience, i would buy any skullcandy product without hesitation!
if ur looking for the best sound, then pull out your checkbook and buy something like BOSE.
if u have $50 and want to buy headphones, then look no further!!!!!!!!!!
(in case you're wondering, they do not have noise canceling.)
These rock! Cool BASS affect! -- 2010-09-06 Wow! Bought these for my Dad because he uses a portable DVD player to workout. He uses these everyday and couldnt be happier! I tried them out to make sure what I ordered was good enought for him and I didnt want to take them off. I had never experienced BASS from headphones. Awesome deal and awesome price!! Plus a great gift. Requires battery for the BASS power but well worth it!

 | JVC HANC250 High-Grade Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Solid for the price, but not perfect -- 2010-09-03 I purchased these headphones because they had good reviews and cost 1/3 as much as top-rated Bose models. Having used both, the Bose have far better noise canceling, but I don't think it's worth three Benjamins to get more noise reduction. Here are some categories I felt should be explained:
Build Quality - As far as I can tell, these things are solid. The headphones come with a hard zipper case that includes a couple of audio connectors. You get a 1/4" adapter, an airplane adapter, and a somewhat short cable that plugs into the headphones. This is nice because you can unplug the cable from the headphones if you're just looking for noise canceling. The headphones seem sturdy, but I'll update if there are any problems.
Audio - One thing that disappointed me about the audio was the frequency response when the headphones are turned off. The bass levels are pathetic when turned off, so it is almost always necessary to turn them on to listen to any music. While this is in no way a deal-breaker, it's something to be aware of. Once the 'phones are turned on, the response is good. The bass is strong and doesn't sound muddled, and the treble is clean as well. If you're not getting the sound balance you want, mess with your EQ settings--9 times out of 10 they'll be set for a different genre.
Noise Canceling - The canceling on these headphones isn't advertised as perfect--the box states 85%. I'd say this is accurate. One thing I noticed is they do a MUCH better job of canceling low frequency noises than higher frequencies. For example, deep rumbles caused by the air conditioning are much less noticeable than, say, a small personal fan. The same is true for voices; higher-pitched voices tend to cut through more easily. However, they do a very solid job and I am pleased. I haven't tested them on an airplane yet, but I will update shortly with the results.
Comfort - Some people have issues with on-ear headphones like these, but personally they have been fine. I've worn them for over 3 hours straight and haven't had any discomfort. However, people have ears of varying sensitivity, so just be aware that these are NOT over-ear cups.
In conclusion, these are some solid headphones for the price. Even though they have some sad response when turned off and aren't great at canceling upper-register noise, I am happy I purchased these instead of a Bose model.
Good travel headsets -- 2010-08-31 I had been using an earlier model of JVC noise cancelling headset for years. I was very happy with them. When I lost them earlier this year I did quite a bit of research and concluded that these were the best value for dollar.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much better the noise reduction was over my previous pair. I also like the "firm" shell storage container. I do not have any experience with the Bose headsets although I have tested Koss in the past. I stand by my assessment that it is the best value for the price.

 | Altec Lansing inMotion Max IMT702 Speaker System for iPod and iPhone (Black)
Best buy for what you get -- 2010-09-05 The sound is full and defined at low to moderate volume, and the remote is nice. The buttons on top of the unit are a little flaky, but work fine once you figure out how to use them properly. Altogether, a good iPhone speaker dock.
A little disappointed in sound quality and volume -- 2010-08-22 I was hoping for something with a little more "OOMPH" in the volume. Once in a while I like to jack up the sound, especially for certain songs. This does not deliver enough volume to satisfy. I'm not wholly dissatisfied with my purchase but that is because I only paid about $90 dollars for this unit. If I'd paid much more that that I would have certainly sent the unit back for a refund.
One major drawback of this portable stereo system is the LACK of an equalizer. There is no excuse for the absence of that feature. The touch sensitive controls on the top of the unit are of really poor quality and almost impossible to see with the naked eye. Oh, and a handle, would it have killed to install some sort of a carry handle?
I would not recommend this stereo system to anyone unless the price was below about $50 or $60.

 | Creative Zen Mozaic 16 GB MP3 Player (Black)
This mp3 player has been very user-friendly! -- 2010-09-07 This mp3 player has been very user-friendly, especially since I consider myself to be not very technologically savvy. However, I am able to use this player without the software that is included. I simply use MusicMatch Jukebox to transfer my play lists to the mp3 player with relative ease. The sound is clear and the speaker blares the music with striking clarity if I do not feel like wearing headphones. This mp3 player is small, lightweight, very portable, and requires no AAA batteries like some of the other players on the market. I simply plug the player into a PC or laptop with a USB cable and it charges fairly quickly. One charge will also yield multiple hours of play time.
I have another cheaper mp3 player that does not compare to the Creative Zen Mosaic. I currently have 643 songs downloaded to my player, and it still has room for another several thousand songs. I am pleased so far.
Old people can use technology -- 2010-09-06 I tend to stay away from new devices, but this is very easy to use. The buttons are a little small, but other than that I figured it out!

 | Stereo Earbud Headphone for Apple iPod Touch 1st 2nd 3rd Gen, iPod Nano iPod mini/ iPod video/ iPod shuffle
Poor quality headphones, not as pictured. -- 2010-08-22 These headphones are not Apple brand and they do not sound as good as the original pair that came with your iPod. The picture is very misleading. The photo shows headphones that are identical to my original pair, but the ones I received look and sound quite a bit different. I bought these under the impression that they were Apple headphones. Do not waste your time or your money with these if you want exact replacements for your original pair.
You get what you pay for. -- 2010-08-18 I love the earphones that came with my nano. When they finally died, I went online, saw this product, and I naively thought I was getting a steal; apple iPod earphones for a couple of bucks. I ordered two pairs.
I was wrong. The sound quality is poor... somewhat muffled, though not as poor as some I've heard. They need to be treated like royalty or they'll break. The only reason I'm rating this 3 stars is because I should have known it was too good to be true.

 | Durable Flexible Black Silicone Skin Case + Car + Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa Clip Mp3 Player
OK - You get what you pay for -- 2010-09-06 I bought this just for the skin case, the chargers were a bonus, of sorts. After reading the other reviews I decided NOT to even try the chargers - it's just not worth the risk. (please read the other reviews about the chargers) Both chargers seemed very cheaply made, as the price should indicate. The USB cable included with my Sansa Clip charges the unit fine and that's all I need. The skin itself is good and fits the Sansa Clip fine except it blocks the Micro SD card slot. For the $1.74 (plus $3 shipping) I paid it is still worth the purchase. I would recommend the skin for anyone who expects their Sansa Clip to hit the floor once in a while! The item arrived quickly and was packaged securely. Kudos to the seller.
Excellent service -- 2010-09-03 Excellent price and service. I actually received the accessories package BEFORE I received the MP3 player.

 | iHome iP90 Dual Alarm Clock Radio with AM/FM Presets and Dock for iPod and iPhone (Black)
Very good and almost great. -- 2010-09-03 This unit replaced an old iHome iH5 that had finally started having several issues that made it impossible to use as an alarm clock. So out it went and in comes the new iP90.
The iP90 is sleek and a big departure from the previous unit in so many ways:
* It has buttons that you push instead of a dial to spin (a big issue as the iH5 aged). Although the click sound it makes when you depress the buttons is loud it is a definite improvement.
* It has presets for the AM/FM radio and features a skip ahead or back feature for the iPod.
* Great dimmer with more settings from bright light to totally off.
* A very good interface that lets you set your weekday, weekend, or entire week alarm settings with just a few button pushes.
* A cool sync feature lets you sync the unit to your iPod time. Dock your iPod push a button on the back of the unit and within a second it is sync'd to your iPod or iPhone time.
* It came with a good remote, but don't let this be the deciding factor for the purchase since it only works if you are directly in front of the unit. If you are directly in front of the unit why would you need the remote? Why can't they make a remote that works at an angle?
* It did not come with an insert for 1st gen Ipod Touch but I just used the one that came with my touch. It is white but it works great. Especially when you are trying to load the iPod in low light. It does look a bit odd black unit and white insert but I can live with it. No need to order another insert.
On to the sound of the unit:
* To be honest, initially this unit did not sound as good as me iH5. But after some tweaking the unit does a very good job with highs and an above average job with lows and bass. This unit comes with a built in equalizer. It is a simple 1 through 5 setting but it is an improvement over the old model for sure. It's still not quite up to the iH5 in total bass output but it gives you a bit clearer sound over all.
Now to the issues:
This unit came and after set up could not receive any AM or FM stations. I am not talking about it having issues with tuning I mean you could not even get any static sound when you set it to radio. No sound what so ever and no way to tune in any stations.
I called iHome and they said that I needed to return the unit to them or the seller. I chose the seller and they replaced the unit for me, and within a week I was up and running.
Overall I am very happy with the unit (after the replacement) and enjoy the new feature set this unit came with. I would recommend the unit but look for a little cheaper price point on Amazon. A seller listed this unit recently for $10 less than I paid, unless you are in a rush, save the cash.
Great - with one big flaw -- 2010-09-02 I'm very pleased with everything about this product. The sound quality is terrific for an alarm clock radio. The time sync with my iphone works perfectly. The 5day alarm is wonderful so I don't have to remember to shut off my daily alarm on the weekends. Everything works exactly the way you would expect.
Except for the back-light. Unless you have the back-light on you cannot read the time in low light and if you have the back-light on, even at the lowest setting, it shines like a spotlight across my bedroom. Granted it is a soft light, but if you require a completely dark bedroom to sleep this is NOT the clock for you.
I've come to an acceptable solution to this buy getting some tinted window film and putting it over the clock face. Now at the lowest setting I can read the time and the light isn't so bright that it bothers me when I sleep.

 | Apple iPod nano 16 GB Green (5th Generation) OLD MODEL
It's an iPod... what else is there to say? -- 2010-09-07 I've been hooked on iPods since my first "iPod photo". This is my first smaller-sized iPod, though--I've always gone for the bigger types before, but wanted something that I could strap to my arm.
There are tons of reviews already, so I'll just add what I thought was the most 'different' about these compared to ones I've used in the past:
1. There's a motion sensor (I forgot what they are called) that changes the display based on whether you have the screen straight up or tilted to the side, etc. While this is a cool new feature, I've found it to actually be more of an annoyance than something 'useful' and, if given the choice, would probably disable it. First of all, if you don't lock the iPod, and are, for example, running, the shaking motion will actually activate shuffle (sometimes) and your song will change suddenly. Also, sometimes the sensor will lag, and your song title won't show up right away (if it is tilted to the side, your albums covers come up).
2. Apple, at some point, changed their connections so if you have an iHome (or other such speaker device), it might not be able to 'charge' this generation of iPods. I was sorely disappointed by this, as it meant an extra $70+ cost to replace my speaker, even though it was working perfectly.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and the quality of the iPod itself. (The pink is so pretty!!!). Marking it down for the minor annoyances, although I guess they don't actually affect how good the product is (overall). Hopefully the next model will be more to my liking?
not the newest model -- 2010-09-06 If I new a newer model was due out this week, I would not have bought this one. The new model is smaller and they have done away with the click wheel, I hate the click wheel! There is nothing wrong or bad about this model other than its not the newest model out there. Its my own fault for not researching better befor my purchase. For the same price you can buy the new nano model which has all the same features, is smaller, and with a touch screen (no more click wheel). No reason to buy this OLDER model unless they drop the price on it significantly.
