Compatible with Mac - not bad printer for price -- 2010-09-06
I just bought this printer from Best Buy earlier today. As a result, my review won't be able to touch upon the longevity of the printer.

However, I'm writing this review to mention a couple important details.

One, it is compatible with Mac OS X. The driver install disk included version 2.0, but I found 3.0 online. I had no problem connecting it to my wireless network (which I have setup with Airport Extreme). If you are having any trouble, go to youtube and search for "mac wireless setup - hp laserjet p1102w" (unfortunately, it doesn't seem that I'm allowed to directly link to it in my review).

Two, I initially struggled with manual duplex over the network, until I found a solution on the apple discussion forums. While the solution is easy (namely, lifting and then closing the lid), it is annoying that it doesn't work automatically. I'm not sure if HP ever plans to actually fix this issue, but at least I can now have manual duplex.

As a printer, it's relatively inexpensive and works fine. It's not too large which is nice. It does exactly what I need for now, but in a couple years when I can afford it, I'll probably purchase a higher-end printer. As an standard monochrome laser printer, I can't complain. I really wish it had automatic duplex, but I didn't really have many other options at Best Buy (I needed it right away, otherwise I probably would have bought the Brother HL-5340D printer).

Great machine - wireless setup wasn't easy.... -- 2010-09-05
The directions for a Mac wireless setup was difficult. The directions were not clear at all. It took me about 45 minutes to finally get it working. After the setup though, everything works flawlessly - it's a very easy setup. If it weren't for the difficult setup, this product would have received 5 stars.

Quality and service -- 2010-09-09
The printer has not functioned at all for about a month. The screen shows " Alignment Failed", and I have followed all of the procedures recommended. The last E-mail from them instructed me to perform a procedure that I could not achieve the first step. They said that it was probably a mechanical problem, and that an expert would call within a specific time range.Well, no one called, so I am asking for a replacement. If I am successful , I will make an addendum to my review. HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer (CD055A#ABA)

Even a non-techie loves it! -- 2010-09-09
Needed something my non-technical wife could use for scrap booking/photo printing -- this was it! I have needed to provide her little to no assistance - including changing the ink!

As long as the XL version of ink is bought - ink usage/replacement is reasonable.

Good quality output - but we don't use it for any professional purposes (home use only).

Samsung Monochrome Laser Printer (ML-1665)Samsung Monochrome Laser Printer (ML-1665)

Don't buy it without the cord! -- 2010-09-01
Until the printer arrived, there was no indication that the UBS cord had to be purchased separately. The shipper claimed it wasn't his fault: Samsung doesn't include it. While I love the printer, the fact I had to waste time and money buying the cord to use the printer was very upsetting. I would have thought twice had I known.

Great bargain laser -- 2010-08-25
My son spilled root beer into my venerable HP LaserJet 4L and ruined it. That printer was a workhorse, but it was slow.

The Samsung is working just as hard, but at speeds reasonably close to those advertised. Its niggles are that it uses a paper loading flap rather than a tray, and that the output tray is pretty flimsy.

For $50, I have no complaints. That's about what I was paying for ink cartridges for my Canon, and it burned through ink like a teenaged driver through gas.

Compact excellence -- 2010-09-04
I live on a sailboat. I require functionality, compact size, energy efficiency, and durability. This printer has met or exceeded all of my expectations!

Great size, Great document print, Great photo print -- 2010-08-25
I love this printer. I usually do not pay this amount for a printer but it is a great value as a portable printer. Documents are professional quality and that you can print great photos was a plus. If you're on the go - get this printer.

HP Officejet 6500 printer review -- 2010-09-06
I had this printer setup in about 20 minutes and it works well. The print quality is excellent for the cost of this printer. I would highly recommend this printer

A very good unit -- 2010-09-02
Although it shakes the desk a bit, this is a good unit. I've got a WiFi router, and plugged the printer into it. I was able to scan to my laptop across the room. I don't recommend the WiFi enabled unit as it's more expensive. Just plug the printer into your router and away you go.

The unit may come with a short CAT cable; I don't remember. Ask or find out before you purchase.

The software install takes forever. No word yet if I can install the scanner software on my wife's laptop without installing the whole thing.

Ink cartridges can be pricey. I haven't tried remanufactured cartridges - yet.

Awesome!! -- 2010-09-07
Printer arrived extremely fast and very, very easy to install. We have 2 computers attached, one via usb cable and one wireless and it is the most amazing printer we've ever owned. Would definitely recommend this printer for everyday printing, photos (are clear and sharp) and various project printing...recently I printed 200 wedding invites, rsvp's, thank you's and programs with amazing compliments on them.

This printer sucks with wireless capabilities. -- 2010-09-07
This is my second HP printer. While I loved my old printer, I couldn't take it with me to Hawaii, so I was given this one for free from Apple after purchasing a computer from them. Normally I would have nothing bad to say about this printer, but after being patient with it, scouring help forums, I now sort of hate this printer.

The new bells and whistles on this printer is that it has a touch interface with animated directions on how to do things, plus, you can add it to your network to print wirelessly. But the wireless printing SUCKS. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, turning off the printer, turning it back on, switching it off of Bonjour, etc. but here's what the printer does:
1. Prints EXTREMELY SLOWLY
2. Stops printing entirely, even when the document isn't finished.
3. Prints, stops printing, pauses, then it's up to you to unpause it, then just stops.
4. Doesn't print at all.

I'm frustrated and disappointed, but at least the USB cable comes with the printer this time and the USB connection functions properly.

PS. I have a MacBook Pro 13". Don't get this printer, unless you don't mind your computer being chained to the printer.

Many features but cost to operate is crazy. -- 2010-09-01
I have had this unit for about 6 months. We use it in a busy medical office that receives lots of faxes. Initially, I loved it. It was fast and quiet with high quality printing and great features like scanning to PDF and network folders. It is an inkjet and requires 4 separate colors. We were going through all 4 cartridges per week. So, I reset the printer to only print in black and draft quality, still draining all ink cartridges. Turns out that even when only using black setting, it still uses all inks. We were spending $400 per month on ink until I finally replaced it this week. The unit will not operate at all if a cartridge is empty or missing. It completely locks up. It will not even allow you to use it as a scanner unless you put in the certified HP cartridges. You cannot fax out or receive until the cartridge is replaced, shutting our entire office down if we don't have a cartridge handy. It does not receive faxes into memory. It does not allow you to scan faxes into memory so that if there is a fax coming in, you must wait to send yours. As busy as our fax machine can be sometimes, Our outgoing faxes would stack up waiting to be scanned. If your office does any kind of volume, I would not get this product.

Good Office Printer -- 2010-08-30
Easy to use, with second tray comes in handy. Print quality is high and speed is acceptable. Touch screen is a nice touch, doesn't need to turn on computer to use it.

Checkout First -- 2010-09-01
I special order this Brother MFC-9320cw from Amazone.com. I like most about everything including features, functions and the price is fine. The worse feature about this printer is the manual feed. It offers just only one page at a time and you still have to hold that sheet of paper straight and constanly jam. It took me almost 2 hours to print 30 sheets of card stock. If you are looking to print card stocks and manual feed this is 100% not a good choice for you to buy.....

Great buy. -- 2010-08-23
I am very pleased with this printer. The print quality is excellent and being able to use it wirelessly is very convenient. Setup was pretty easy, but the wireless part was a bit confusing. However, technical support was excellent and quick. It works seamlessly with my Mac and would recommend it highly.

do not buy! -- 2010-09-09
This is the worst printer that I have ever bought! It only works when it want too! I HATE IT! I should have sent it back.

it's a bargain -- 2010-08-28
This small machine includes every function you expect for a all-in-one printer. The results look good. I just hope it will not run out of ink before printing dozens copies.

Small, but mighty! -- 2010-08-27
I purchased this printer yesterday (26 AUG '10).
To my delight and amazement, it arrived with faster than usual, AMAZON.COM promptness and punctuality.
It arrived in excellent condition.
I paid for two day shipping and received it less than 24 hours later!
No sales tax, faster than promised shipping, great service, excellent value, exceeds expectations product; this is an all around winner!
AMAZON.COM rocks!
Now, about this little beauty.
Its small but mighty.
It was fairly easy to set up and I had it working in under five minutes.
That five minutes INCLUDES the time I spent unpacking, as well as installing it.
Print quality is great.
It works well, and is responsive over my WiFi setup.
I give this little powerhouse a 4.75 star rating out of a possible 5.00.
Why?
Because as wonderful as it is, nothing is perfect.
But, this little printer is almost as good as it gets!
Add in the outstanding AMAZON.COM service, shipping, and pricing; and there is NO way you can lose if you're in the market for an outstanding wireless printer!

Great wireless printer -- 2010-08-05
I purchased this printer after we decided to Texas for the winter. I wanted a printer but not the hassle of the cords because we would be living in a camper for 3 months. This is an awesome printer. very easy to set up and use either in my house or in the camper. It prints very fast and very clear. Highly recommend
