 | Coby TFTV1525 15-Inch Widescreen TFT LCD 720p HDTV/Monitor with HDMI Input (Black)
Barely acceptable -- 2010-09-09 If you are looking for the cheapest, barely acceptable video component ... you found it. I bought this strickly because I have a limited budget and this met it. The colors are washed out on all the settings. The available angle of view is difficult if you are using this in an area like a kitchen. Probably no more than 50 degrees of working angle.
The unit worked for approximately a month and a half. Shut it of one night come back the next day and the remote doesn't work ... at all. After trying a new remote it's been diagnosed as a bad remote reciever in the TV.... not acceptable on a unit that is only a few weeks old. All in all it's a stretch to give it 2 stars.
Amazon was really great in offering to replace or refund. After looking on line at other issues with the brand, I've decided to spend the extra $30 and buy, from Amazon, a name brand I have confidence in.
SPEND THE EXTRA $$$$.........
Works very good -- 2010-09-04 Wow, deivery was very fast. Doing business with Amazon is the best!!! I do not have this TV hooked up to an HD cable yet but using regular cable, the picture is very good. Sound is very good. So far, absolutely no complaints for this product, that's why it got 5 stars.

 | Samsung LN40C530 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
This is THE sub 700usd TV. -- 2010-09-03 Upon breaking the LCD panel in my previous Samsung TV, the LN4065F, I sent myself to Amazon in quest of a new TV. I wanted another Samsung, since their build and picture quality are topnotch, but I also wanted something relatively entree-level as a cheap means of replacing my older TV.
The Samsung LN40C530 delivers in both apartments, and with astonishing results. At under 700usd, this set provides an excellent picture with extremely rich colors. There is no problem with backlight bleeding or color inconsistency either. Compared to my older TV set, this one has more of a semi-glossy screen with some matte properties. Most people would view a semi-matte screen bad over a very glossy screen, but the matte elements in the screen do a great job of ensuring the colors this panel provide are very deep and saturated. Having a very high contrast ratio helps a great deal of bit with color reproduction as well. At its default settings, the picture's a a bit too sharp, so setting sharpness down to around 30s will produce more desirable/natural pictures. Compared to my older TV, the sound seems to be lesser, and not as deep, so I manually had to go into its equalizer and raise the lower hz rates up a little to produce satisfying results. This is fine for most people, but ones who play games under game mode for lower input lag are forced to use default audio, so they should think twice if sound is a big issue to them.
This TV doesn't boast any of the newer technologies we see today in higher end TVs-- such as 120/240hz, or led backlighting with or without local dimming-- but this TV doesn't need them. Almost all signals are capped at 60hz, and it's up to the TV's motion estimation interpolation to render false frames (which can sometimes lead to unwanted artifacts/effects) True 120hz won't be taken full advantage of until everything is broadcasted at a native 120hz rate. led local dimming seems nice, but this TV already is very bright, and shows no signs of backlight bleeding (blacks could be a little blacker, but that can usually be fixed by setting HDMI black level to low-- if wanted) Besides that, there's little reason to be a stickler for very deep blacks if the TV shows no sign of backlight bleeding/clouding.
In terms of build quality, for a sub 700usd TV, the LN40C530 looks and feels like a 1500+usd tv. The bezel is small and compact (as well as a slimmer depth than my old TV: 3.1inches compared to 3.8inches), while Samsung included a row of touch sensitive buttons on the bottom right-- very akin to Sony PS3's power/eject buttons. One thing I am a bit disappointed in is the lack of Samsung's trademark lighting effect on the bottom center of the bezel, but the blown glass-like design of the clear plastic under the bottom bezel looks very nice. Even though Samsung says this TV doesn't come with a touch of color feature, you can make out a very faint amount of red accent in the very bottom of the TV. The remote is another letdown for me, as the general look to it is very cheep compared to my older model. Thankfully, the older remote works on this new TV as well.
As for the general consensus: If you're in the market for an entree level HDTV with amazing picture, you need not look further than this great piece of kit Samsung has introduced.
Excellent TV + great service from Amazon! -- 2010-08-19 TV is everything I hoped for and more.
Ordered from Amazon on Thursday and it was
hand delivered, by appointment, on Tuesday.
Could not have asked for better service.
Thank you, Amazon.

 | Samsung LN26C450 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
Samsung 26 inch, Multimedia HDTV -- 2010-08-28 This review covers the 26inch HDTV and also a recently purchased 22 inch Samsung. Both are excellent sets with easy installation & exceptional picture quality. These sets are a part of our multimedia system where the main set is a 1.5 yr old 52 inch HDTV Samsung (also an Amazon purchase). All three sets have excellent TV tuners which seem to be a weak point on other manufacturer's product and, so far, the reliability of all sets has been 100% which is consistent with industry reliability reviews.Samsung LN26C450 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
Good but poor auto timer ability -- 2010-08-28 The only issue is that the auto timer cannot be set to start up on the HDMI input and is is of little use if that is your input channel. Apart from that it is easy to set up and has an excellent picture.

 | Samsung LN32C550 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
Great TV for my Master Bedroom -- 2010-08-31 Great LCD for a midsized room. The menu settings and remote take a bit of getting used to, but it is not a deal breaker. The picture is very clear, vibrant with crisp color and black "blacks". I can hardly tell when I'm watching one of Time Warner Cable's "regular" or "HD" stations. The aesthetics of the TV itself is very nice. I didn't think I'd care for the red line around the bezel but it is not so noticeable and won't clash with your room colors. The line is not bold so it disappears after awhile.
I can't comment much about viewing this at an angle. I have it in an armoire so it is position only for direct viewing. It looks like it handles angle viewing well when I'm walking by or entering the room.
I'm usually a Panasonic die-hard fan when it comes to TVs. Space requirements forced me to Samsung. However, I am pleasantly surprised and happy with this purchase so far. I have been using this for a couple of months now. The proof will come over time. All of my previous Panny's were all quality workhorses. As my first Samsung purchase I hope this will be a similar experience.
great product and service -- 2010-08-29 This tv is awesome! Don't think the touch of red color really makes a difference but I love it. I plan on buying a larger one from amazon soon. Amazon is great and the tv arrived like in two days. Love it!!

Great television -- 2010-08-31 I am very satisfied with my Samsung Television; I was impressed with how I was able to assemble and enjoy it so quickly. It was also packed perfectly, so far, so good, great Television.
Samsung LN19C350 19-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black) -- 2010-08-21 The Samsung HDTV was packaged perfectly and arrived in excellent condition as expected based on my HDTV purchases through Amazon in the past.
I ordered a 19" for one of our small guest bedrooms. In a television that small, 720p 60Hz is just fine. Everything about the TV is working well, and I find the quality of the picture and volume quite satisfactory for its intended purpose.
I would definitely recommend this television to others based upon my experience with it.

 | LG 32LE5300 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV, Silver Grey
Great TV -- 2010-09-05 I am very satisfied with this purchase. First off, the shipping was extremely quick even on the basic option. TV worked very well right out of the box, easy to set up and get going. Lack of actual manual (one comes on a CD) not an issue so far because the menu interface was very easy to use. There are 2 types of menu on the TV. One is a more in depth menu which allows you to change and tune individual settings (color, contrast, etc.) to whatever you would like and another that is a quick menu that allows for quick setting changes based on different factory presets such as "sports", "cinema/movie", and "standard". These quick settings will change how the picture is displayed and also the volume functionality. The movie setting will make the volume much louder, for example. The built-in speakers seem to be good to me. I am not overly knowledgeable in this area but they do not sound really "tinny" or cheap while watching. Picture is great. Before leaving for school had it hooked up through HDMI to HD tv and sports and other channels came in great. At school on standard cable the picture is more of what you would expect from regular cable. When viewed up close it is not very good, but when viewed from a distance of about 8-10 feet picture is rather good. The remote it comes with is very usable and is rather standard (and therefore easy to get used to). Only thing so far that I do not like is the buttons on the TV for control volume etc. are not standard buttons that you push in. They are on the face of the body of the TV and just "react" to your finger being put there. The volume one in particular I do not like as when you put your finger on it it beeps and then quickly reduces the volume by more than you wanted. Other than that this is a great TV and I would strongly recommend it.
Great HD LED TV -- 2010-08-25 Must have this TV.... the picture is amazing, the sound, the looks evrything!!!...and the best thing is the price!!

 | VIZIO M220NV 22-Inch Full HD 1080P LED LCD HDTV with VIA Internet Application, Black
Best Bang for the buck and fun too! -- 2010-09-05 I just received the tv which is fantastic and I finished watching a netflix movie and some videos on blip tv. It is very cool and I really don't know what the fuss about the sound is. I'm listening to it in my bedroom and can hear it in my bathroom across the hall when it's turned up. No distortion. I would say the best bang for the buck and loads of fun with the internet apps. I bought this for my rv so I could watch some programs when I only have wifi and no tv reception.
If you get real creative there is a way to make your phone a wifi hot spot and just use your phones internet connection to allow the tv to connect to stream wifi even when you are in the boondocks with no wifi or tv signal as long as you have a cell phone connection.
An incredible buy -- 2010-09-04 I can't imagine giving this unit a 2-star hit just because of the sound. Yes, the sound is pretty bad. But the TV excels in EVERY other category. You simply cannot buy any other tv of this quality for this price. My wife and I were looking for a tv for our bedroom and this fits the bill perfectly. I had an old set of computer speakers with a sub and the sound is great now. Even if you have to buy a pair of $50 computer speakers, you still wouldn't find a better deal. If you're in the market for a tv of this size, it is definitely a must buy.

 | Panasonic TC-P50S2 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
As Compared to Sharp 52LE810UN Edge Lit LED -- 2010-09-09 I bought and evaluated this TV for about two weeks before taking it back and purchasing the new Sharp 52LE810UN edge-lit LED. I have since taken back the Sharp and will be picking up the TC-P58S2 tomorrow. Here are my thoughts:
Overall Picture Quality: Overall the S2 has superior picture quality to the Sharp Edge Lit. The LED's only advantage is the Film Mode/Motion Flow, which gives the picture a very smooth video like appearance. Some people don't like this as it doesn't represent the film in the manner the Director originally intended.
Black Levels: The S2 has great inky blacks. These black levels hold whether in a completely dark or brightly lit room. The LED edge-lit black levels were no where near as good. In a dark room the Sharp's screen looked white/cloudy, even with the backlight turned all the way down. A full LED set with local dimming would likely fair more favorably against the S2.
Constrast: The S2's contrast was far better than the Edge Lit LED. Again, in this area Plasmas still dominate.
Bright Room Performance: The S2's matte screen did an excellent job of handling bright rooms and it's backlight was plenty strong to handle even direct sunlight. The glossy screen of the Sharp was very, very reflective and seriously detracted from the viewing experience, despite it's very powerful backlight.
Viewing Angle: The S2's viewing angle is phenomenal. You can sit at any angle to this TV and still have a bright and vibrant picture. While the Sharp LED had good viewing angles, it can't keep up with the Plasma and began to get washed out at about 70 degrees.
Network Connectivity: The S2 does not have internet connectivity like the LE810. The LE810 has a host of internet widgets and features. This was not an issue for me though, as I utilize my PS3 for internet connectivity and BLU-Rays, meaning the Sharp was redundant for my purposes.
Connectivity: The S2 does not have a d-sub input. This could be an issue for some, but was not for me, as I have an HDMI output on my laptop.
Design: Thin Edge-lit LEDs have great visual appeal, but they sacrifice performance for looks. The S2 is comparable in design to mid-priced LCDs, though slightly heavier. The buttons on the S2 and its remote function well and are well laid out. The buttons on the Sharp are "supposed" to be touch sensitive, but require A LOT of pressure to activate. The Sharp's remote is stylistically and functionally similar to the S2. Again, this sacrifices looks for function. The Sharp's base is solid glass, whereas the S2's is plastic.
Sound: Surprisingly, the Sharp delivers great sound (for a flat panel) despite it's thin design. The Sharp pumped out more volume at 25% than the S2 did at 50%. The Panasonic has weak sound for large rooms. I'd recommend using a HTIB or Receiver/Speakers with the Panny. The S2 now sells for $899 on Amazon. This is a great value! The $1,200+ price of the 58 inch S2 is truly compelling. With the Sharp, for $1,799 your getting the newest LED technology with internet connectivity in a slim design.
Value: I purchased the S2 for $1099. The Sharp cost $1,799. The Panny outperformed the Sharp in almost every area and does so at over $900 less.
I highly recommend the Panasonic to anyone looking for picture quality first and design second.
Great TV for the $$ -- 2010-08-29 This is a great quality TV for the price. In addition to free shipping and no tax from Amazon.com it made the decision easy. The ONLY problem I have noticed thus far, is that the IR sensor for the TV is in the direct-bottom-center of the TV, further my front/center channel speaker on my surround sound blocks the sensor; minor problem, but I suggest they move the IR sensor to the left or right side.

 | Vizio E420VL 42-Inch Full HD 1080P 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Black
Please, do yourself a favor and do not buy Vizio -- 2010-09-05 I had a Vizio for 2 years and it has now stopped funcioning properly. Apparently, I am experiencing what is called the "black screen of death." Google it and see all of the complaints for yourself. So, do yourself a favor and stay away from Vizio's Tvs. Yeah, they are cheaper and the picture quality is pretty good, but do you really want to pay $700-$900 for Tv that will only last 2-3 years? Oh yeah, and the cost of repairs to the Tv were quoted at $500!!! Thanks Vizio; you just lost another customer.
Where is my TV? -- 2010-08-28 Estimated delivery date 8/26/10. Actual delivery date 9/2/10. Late but in good condition and the delivery person unwrapped it and we checked to see that it worked before he left. Vizio E420VL 42-Inch Full HD 1080P 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Black
The TV is very good and has even more features than advertised.

 | LG 26LD350 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV
First HDTV purchase and I Love it! -- 2010-09-09 This is my first time buying a TV ever. I went with LG because of the brand recognition. This TV is in my bedroom which makes the 26" a great size, no need for the 32". The color and sound are both great whether I'm using my DVD player, DirecTV, or streaming Netflix through my laptop. I've had it for about a month now and it's still working great. The menu also has a lot of neat features. I definitely recommend this unit. Oh, and PS: I don't have any HD services so I can't comment on that, but regular digital looks great!
Expensive 26" LG flatscreen HGTV -- 2010-07-27 Nice unit but paid too much for it's size . Had a size constraint due to location. Amazon delivered what I ordered though. Great service but to expensive for 26" TV.
