Stopped working in 2 weeks -- 2010-07-25
It was very easy to set up on my vista (64bit) desktop computer. But while having a windows video, my image locked up and since, plugging it into my USB port, my computer does not recognize it. I know longer can place video calls, so I am returning it unfortunately. I had high hopes and a positive view until it just stopped and it was so young.
how do you submit these, I only have a preview link??? I'll hopefully amuse myself with this line in a moment.
Great for beginners -- 2010-07-20
I read comments from other reviewers before buying this item. I found their information correct. The cam is easy to install (I simply plugged it into my USB port + microphone port in PC with Windows 7 OS and it began working immediately withing the webcam program I was running). This was good thing because I didn't find any installation instructions in or on the package.
The image appears to be above average and I did find that the ring around the lens opening improved the focus. I like the flexible neck and stand which allows me the opportunity to place the camera wherever I prefer (I didn't want a clip-on monitor camera for this reason). The suction cup base will only stick to a clean smooth polished (glass) surface.
I recommend this to anyone who is a novice to webcam communication. For the very reasonable price, one could afford to toss this device if you got hooked (buy a more expensive cam upgrade) or didn't like this form of communication.

I am about to rate it 5 stars as the one I brought months ago works consistantly fantasic so far, and if it keep its performance until early next year, I might wanna buy another one and rate it 5 at that time. Really easy to use, no installation is needed on my PC, it's automatically opening when being connected to the computer.

The C200 is inexpensive and is easy to install. However, those who have experienced the higher end Logitech webcams will be disappointed with the lack of automatic focus and the resulting marginal picture. Its hard to find the sweet spot to get an image that appears to be in focus.

Great Quality, But Blurs Frequently -- 2010-08-18
This camera is nice, comes with pretty good out of the box software/drivers, and is a great deal at its price. The only flaw I've found with it is that it FREQUENTLY loses focus, even when I'm just sitting in my chair Skyping with someone, it will just randomly and frequently blur, and then auto-focus itself. I've read many other reviews online that report the same issue. This camera would have received a 5/5 star if it had simply included an option to manually turn off the auto-focus feature.
It's not worth the money -- 2010-08-17
This camera has serious flaws: the software that came with it crashed my computer (running with Windows 7) and also my laptop (running with XP), therefore I realized the problem is in the software, not on my computers. So I uninstalled it and the camera is running without its original software, thus disabling any special functions it might have; also, and the worst of all, the auto-focus doesn't work properly, it's constantly refocusing and can't hold focus. I bought another Microsoft camera below this model which works just fine and it was much cheaper. I want to believe the problem resides on this particular camera and not in all the models, but it is not reasonable to sell a camera that might present such kind of troubles. Not at this price, at least. Try something else.

Good for the technically challenged Skype user -- 2010-08-27
I bought this for my parents to use with Skype so they could video chat with my sister at college. Neither one is technically inclined, but this camera functions very well in Windows 7.
The picture quality on it is better than I would expect from such an inexpensive camera, and on a good internet connection provides a fluid video feed. The mic is adequate and at least allows the speaker to be audible, if a little quiet. It easily fits on top of a monitor, though if you have a laptop you may need to set it on a flat surface.
The item is well worth its price.

this cam gives you great bang for the buck, It doesn't have the best picture but good enough for the person who is just doing basic web camming

Very happy with the camera -- 2010-09-03
This has definitely been a good investment so far. Set it up in the living room and now my wife can keep an eye on the kids without running up and down stairs (she's 8.5 months pregnant). The camera and software were easy to set up and didn't have any issues with them at all. I grabbed the android app off of the android marketplace too so I can check in on the camera whenever I want. I've convinced several friends and family members to pick one up so far, now I just need to convince my wife to let me get another one for the basement.
Security is now fun -- 2010-09-03
The set up was very painless and easy. It included the inline Ethernet adapters so all you had to do was plug one into a wall socket near your router, plug it into the router, plug to other adapter into a wall socket near where you would want surveillance, then plug the camera in. And that's basically all the set up that is needed.
Then you have to install the desktop software, it'll search for your camera(s) on the network, and you'll be able to see what's going on. The camera itself is of very good quality. The picture quality is great, and the field of view is very wide (you might need less cameras than you originally thought cause it's so wide). The camera comes with a microSD card preinstalled so you don't have to save video to your computer if you don't want. It even comes with a MicroSD card adapter! Which was very nice of Logitech to include.
Everything was extremely easy to set up and I will probably be purchasing one or two more cameras in the future. My one complaint is that the camera that came with my master control system stopped working only minutes after I got it running (however I think that it was my fault because I unplugged the Ethernet cord while it was loading new firmware or something). But I still give this product 5 stars because when I contacted their customer service the lady I spoke with was very nice and helpful, plus she was American and I could understand her! They offered to send me a replacement and I accepted so now I'm just waiting for the replacement. I'm still pleased with my purchase because of their excellent customer service.

Save your money, buy a webcam instead -- 2010-08-28
Reasonably easy to setup, however the image quality is very poor, the website (which is the only way to view your cameras) is pretty much unresponsive to the point you often can't even tell if your cameras are online. That assumes you can even complete the login process.
A webcam would provide the same quality or better, the Avaak's only redeeming quality is that it doesn't have to be next to the computer.
Definitely not going to be a repeat customer.

A Good Laptop Webcam for the Price -- 2010-07-20
I bought this for a home laptop so I could video chat with home while I was away for business. This little clip-on webcam got the job done very well. The video and audio quality were far superior to the built-in camera on my work laptop. Installation was easy, and the camera worked great with Skype, even though the packaging talks about MSN Messenger.
The laptop is 5 years old, but the camera worked great, so you shouldn't have trouble with it on reasonably old hardware. If you're looking for very high image quality, then you should probably spend more, since this is really designed for casual use. Also, note that it's only designed for laptops, and there aren't any good ways to mount it to a desktop monitor, or even a way to place it on a table.
Overall, definitely a good value, and I would buy it again.

My daughter recently moved to Spain and I needed to find a webcam compatible with a six year old Sony Vaio with Microsoft XP/Vista and hi-speed internet. I had procrastinated setting up the Skype until after she had moved. I had been shopping on Amazon but didn't know exactly which webcam to buy. The Skype site suggested several webcams compatible to our computer. They "hooked me up" with Amazon and I ordered the Logitech QuickCam for 34.99. I received it in 2 business days (no shipping charge). I didn't think I would be able to set the webcam up myself but it was a cinch. It rests securely on the moniter and it is very, very simple to use. The video, audio and microphone are super clear. My initial thought was that if this webcam didn't work very well than I can upgrade. I really don't feel as though I need to upgrade anytime soon! I had company at the house the other day & we gathered around the computer to Skype with my daughter in Spain and also with my niece in California. It was perfect! I am very happy with this webcam.

This web cam is exactly what I was looking for. I'm working for a company that likes to do web conferencing, and I needed a web cam in order to join in. This Logitech was a breeze to install and has great picture/sound quality. For the money, it's unbeatable.
